Project Welcome aims to learn about and articulate ways libraries can address the information needs of refugees and asylum seekers in order to support and empower them in their resettlement and integration process.

Sponsored by New Jersey State Library, this program is aimed at increasing cultural and linguistic competence and effectiveness in communication among English/Spanish speaking bilingual individuals working in public libraries.

SALALM’s primary missions are the control and dissemination of bibliographic information about all types of Latin American publications and the development of library collections of Latin Americana in support of educational research. 

The Latino Services Interest group provides a venue to share ideas for services to Latinos and the Spanish speaking. This group seeks to amplify programming, resources, and overall service to the Latino community while providing professional resources and networking opportunities for librarians of color.

The Association of Librarians of Baja California goal is the development of Library Science through the promotion of libraries, information services and the professionalization of our members. We also strive to establish and maintain relations with other professional groups, national and international, to raise the level of quality of library services in the state of Baja California.

Association of Caribbean University, Research and Institutional Libraries. Objectives: --to facilitate the development and use of libraries, archives, and information services, and the identification, collection and preservation of information resources in support of the whole range of intellectual and educational endeavors throughout the Caribbean area; --to strengthen the archival, library and information professions; --to unite information workers in them, and to promote cooperative activities in the pursuit of these objectives.

Founded in 1954 AMBAC is the largest and oldest library association in Mexico. It has, as its principal objectives, professional improvement for our members and the promotion of libraries, library services and library science in Mexico. Currently, we have a large number of members, including personal, institutional, national and international members. AMBAC coordinates, among other activities, refresher courses, workshops, regular membership meetings and our annual conference (las Jornadas Mexicanas de Biblioteconomía) that is a forum for sharing, discussing and analyzing issues related to libraries and Information Science.

The Association of Librarians of El Salvador (ABES), is characterized as a private institution, with no political affiliations, cultural, not for profit, and non-religious. Members are Information Administrators coming from the fields of Libraries, Record Centers, Information Centers, Archives, Computer Science Centers, and Library Schools, all of whom are interested in finding ways to strengthen the guild.

The Association of Library Scientists of Uruguay (ABU) was founded in 1945 by the first graduates of library school in the country. It has as its mission to be the benchmark for the development, promotion, and improvement of the profession, for libraries and all other units of Information. As well as aspiring towards the guarantee of freedom of access to information for all Uruguayans, contributing as much to lifelong learning as to the development of citizens who are critical thinkers who participate in the social, cultural, economic, and political progress of our country.

The Colombian College of Library Science (Ascolbi) has as its principal mission to unionize, represent and strengthen the professionals and students of Information and Library Science of Colombia, modeling ethical reflection, discipline, academic , scientific, and public policy debate; professional growth, the exchange and creation of knowledge with the object of improving the processes of acquisition, classification, description, preservation, access, and the social appropriation of information and understanding.

The Chilean College of Library Science supports professional development and learning in LIS.

The Peruvian College of Library and Information Science was created on January 12, 1990 thanks to the approval on that date of Law 25189 making official its creation. Mission To represent LIS professionals through the professional development of its members with regards to academic, social and ethical aspects according to the universal rights of freedom of access to information, education and culture. Vision To be the leading institution in the defense and development of LIS activity consolidating its contribution to society as manager and promoter of policies that contribute to the democratization of information.

The Bolivian College of Information Science The Bolivian College of Information Science (Librarians, Documentalists, Archivists, and Museologists) is a national entity of scientific character -- technical and trade union, without any purpose of profit, with legal status according to No. 169. Brings together professionals in librarianship, documentation, archiving and museology incorporated as members according to what the Bylaws prescribe.

The National College of Librarians is a Civil Association that brings together Mexican librarians with the objective of contributing to their professional development and, in general, the culture of librarianship; unifying through diversity the criteria of each of our members in librarianship matters and the future development of library science.

The Latin American Meeting of Librarians, Archivists and Museologists (EBAM), is a space of free and inclusive convergence around issues and problems related to the activity of libraries, archives and museums. Its objective is to share experiences, exchange ideas, communicate knowledge and discuss different points of view and concerns that bring closer and strengthen both the internal collaboration of each country, and the creation of international cooperation networks and networks.

The International Book Fair in Guatemala has been held in the country since 2000. Until 2006 it was held biennially and since 2008 it is annual. Its main objective is to help develop the habit of reading in Guatemala and achieve the free circulation of books in the country and promote bibliodiversity. It has contributed to the growth of the editorial production in the country. In addition to the part related to the exhibition and sale of books, Filgua has become one of the greatest cultural events in the country.

The general objective of the Section is to encourage activities related to access to information and knowledge. The Section gives priority to promotion of literacy, promotion of reading, and application of new technologies, as well as to the services of libraries and information centres in the region.
